James Nutt
James Nutt is an architect, artist, instructor and constant sketcher. He practices architecture at 3M, and maintains a studio in the NE Minneapolis at the third floor Studio 321 in the Northrup King Building. (This is a recent move from Haecceity Studios and Gallery in the same building)
New Year, New Studio, New Work!
James' focus is finding and communicating the relationships, energy and stories of our everyday environment. He strives for an “accurate looseness” using a self-imposed limited color palette to focus on energetic line work, depth and proportion to provide balance and harmony.
A small bag of art supplies and a sketchbook are his constant companions. James has drawn or painted every day for the past 8 years and participates in Northup King First Thursday open studios, Saturday 12-4, Art-A-Whirl and various art venues. James sells original pieces, prints, and is often available for commissions and private lessons.
